Chartwell Initiatives:

All of our employees are trained in the Japanese principle that aims to create a work environment that is as efficient as it is productive and successful.  Chartwell sent seven team members who make up our Kaizen committee to Japan (some more than once!) to have specialized training and familiarize themselves with the various concepts.

The team returned from Japan and gave training to the entire company at our all-staff annual leadership retreat in Virginia, alongside a Kaizen expert that Chartwell had flown in from Australia to conduct a workshop training.

Earlier in the year the executive team spent two weeks in Normandy, France to participate in a highly intensive leadership training to improve their managerial skills and provide the right tools to improve their individual teams. They underwent various exercises, meetings and workshops in order to better develop their skills and lead their teams.

Career development is widely discussed at Chartwell and every employee is encouraged to improve their skillset and knowledgebase with any certificates, courses or workshops that would further educate them and advance their career and leadership.

One of our employees showed interest in becoming an HR Manager recently and we are currently enrolling her in getting her HR certification to compliment her degree. Our President and CEO just came back from a weeklong intensive course in France titled, “The Challenges of Leadership”.

Two of our Kaizen members went back to school and received certifications in management last year. One of our Compliance Professionals received her CAMS-Audit designation, which is an advanced-level certification and is the first of its kind in the AML and financial crime prevention community.

In addition to the above initiatives, Chartwell has begun the process of opening Kalyani School, an international school which aims to develop culturally and intellectually mature children who can become effective global citizens. Beginning with early childhood education, Kalyani School will eventually offer a full-time curriculum that equips youngsters from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade with, in particular, a sensitivity and respect for non-Western cultures, languages and non-verbal forms of communication – skills uncommon amongst Americans despite globalization.

All of these initiatives are fully sponsored by Chartwell and truly encouraged for all participants. We all understand that working at Chartwell means continuously making improvements not just within the company but also within ourselves.
